Meet the Founders of Logisanté
Reimagining affordable care for seniors in paradise.
For over 20 years, Logisanté founders have worked to bring life saving procedures to people around the world in the greatest need and the hardest to reach. Co-Founder and Director of Nursing for Logisanté, Marie-Noel Le Pain is an industry leader and policy maker in emergency nursing. Together with Co-Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Malek Sbih they are reimagining what quality care and quality of life looks like for the elderly. Inspired by their own experiences and the belief that everyone deserves wellness and purpose throughout life, they are determined to make retiring in paradise affordable for everyone.
When the pandemic began in Canada, both Malek and Marie-Noel advised the Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (Ministry of Health Quebec) to help enhance and implement infection protocols that allowed their senior living communities to protect residents and immediately address COVID-19 outbreaks. Successfully mitigating preventable infection, they wanted to further their work in care for senior communities.
“I wanted to create something different - something fun. People need to be outside, visiting with friends, painting cooking and eating nutritious meals.”
— Dr. Malek Sbih
Today, they are combining their shared experience with global health, emergency response, and commitment to healthy communities to build a network of senior living campuses in the Dominican Republic. It’s their hope that they can set the bar for senior communities so everyone can live life fully with comfort and confidence.
Living with Logisanté means belonging to a network of the best services the DR has to offer including information about international private and public hospitals, short term health insurance and prescription medicine.
The Logisanté networkincludes qualified care givers, immigration lawyers and government relationships where they are continuously exploring benefits such as group insurance for residents and step by step guidance for retiring abroad.
“We plan to break ground in Fall 2026,” says Dr. Malek Sbih, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Logisanté. “Our leadership team has impressive experience in healthcare systems along with relationships, at the government level, to advise our residents on international relocation, including citizenship and guaranteed government funds.” This combination of experience and relationships will put Logistanté residents at ease.

You can see the ocean just over a grassy crest on the grounds which leads to the beach. The facility is designed beautifully to give residents the option to socialize easily or have a more private apartment if needed. Matched with technical expertise and the network to help make the move feel easy, Logisanté is dedicated to a life full of laughter, learning and shuttles to the beach! For most of us, this is financially out of reach, but Logisanté is determined to help you understand how your social security, pension or other guaranteed funds can earn you tax free, dual citizenship and seamless transitions to a life you’ll love.
Dr. Sbih is equal parts logistics savant and Caribbean enthusiast. His commitment to offering affordable retirement is rooted in years of health system expertise and his own experiences with aging loved ones. “My mother is 89,” explains Sbih. “She seemed bored, inactive and unhappy. I wanted to create something different – something fun. People need to be outside, visiting with friends, painting, and cooking and eating nutritious meals.”
An influential leader in infectious disease, Dr Sbih is a senior advisor to Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (part of the Ministry of Health of Quebec). As a technical expert specializing in patient safety protocols, he has developed life-saving compliance standards to mitigate the spread of infections. Most recently, he trained the health and social services workforce to adopt zoning protocols for COVID19 infected patients in nursing homes and the emergency department of Lakeshore General Hospital where he met his co-founder Marie-Noel. Sbih’s work continued to St. Mary’s University Hospital where his zoning protocols were adopted as a model. His work has taken him all over the world helping put emergency systems in place for global pandemic outbreaks in polio, measles, and cholera.
“Our residents deserve quality care and a sense of purpose,” says Le Pain, “I want them to tell their stories and interact with the community.”
— Marie-Noel Le Pain
Logisanté combines technical healthcare expertise with compassionate care and zest for life. Director of Nursing Marie-Noël Le Pain was acting Chief of Rapid Access Clinic for Lakeshore General Hospital in Quebec until July 2022. She was recently the Nursing Services Coordinator at Chisasibi Regional Hospital in Northern Quebec. “We are cut from the same cloth,” she says about her partner, “We see patients as people. Our patients are so much more than the number on their door.” Le Pain has seen how modern healthcare has evolved to focus on treatment, medication, pathology, and disease.
“Since I was very young, I have always felt compassion towards people.” Working with the elderly is a gift. Either you have it, or you don’t,” she says about her calling to care for others. “We don’t always know what the future holds,” she says, “working with seniors helps me focus on the time we have here and now.”
With Logisanté, she wants to focus on the person more than the patient. She is less interested in controlling a desired outcome and committed instead to training a team of quality care providers who are equally committed to the vision. The secret to living a full life is embedded in her vision “Our residents deserve quality care and a sense of purpose,” says Le Pain, “I want them to tell their stories and interact with the community.”

Both Le Pain and Sbih agree that systematic change for senior care will take time. Until then, they are committed to meet the immediate need for affordable care in a way that improves the quality of life for our loved ones and they have seen this approach work in the largest global health initiatives in history.
Logisanté delivers on their promise by offering immersive cultural programing and continued learning opportunities that activate mind and body for longer lasting well-being. “We want our residents to live their best life” says Dr. Malek Sbih. “It’s also our hope to support healthy communities and local economies in the Caribbean.” We will offer painting, woodshop, fitness and weekly outings to explore Dominican culture.”
